Opinion of the supreme court

This case was argued march 18th, 2008 and was decided on June 26th, 2008. The case won 5-4 saying the 2nd amendment does protect someone's right to possess a firearm for lawful purposes. For example self defense inside a home.

The court says the only reason people should be able to have a firearm is for military purposes only.
