Part 1:
The short story, After Twenty Years, by O. Henry, is about two friends planning to meet again after a long time separated. Bob, the wealthier friend, is greeted by his old acquaintance, Jimmy Wells, twenty minutes after their scheduled time. After a couple of minutes, it is revealed that the man with Bob is there in place of Jimmy to arrest him, for he is no more than a criminal.
Part 2:
At the end of the short story, Bob reads a letter from Jimmy stating that his friend could not bare arresting him for being a wanted man in Chicago. This letter clearly allows readers to understand that Bob was a criminal causing his wealth. This ending was a big plot twist, but it ties the loose ends of story up.
