Mythology

Mythology is the base for plot and characters in early Greek theater

It is believed that the rituals to the god Dionysus is the origin for Greek dramas.

The rituals include City Dionysia during the spring time, and Lenaia and Rural Dionysia during the winter.

Dionysus is the god of wine, fertility, and revelry

Dithyrambs. Religious are choral ode songs and hymns during celebrations for Dionysus

Dithyrambs led to drama because Thespis, the first actor and playwright, left the chorus and jumped onto a table claiming the role as "God"
