Gurdwaras

Gurdwaras means "house of the guru", this is used in memory of Guru Nanak's house. In the early community people gathered and listened to his teachings. Today they are places of Sikh worship. Here they gather around their sacred text, which is the Granth sahib. They also act as community centers, where people share the Sikh traditions between generations of Sikhs. Attendance to theses meetings is as important to them as showing up at court.
