There are a few that are in toothpaste. What it includes is diatoms, fluoride, and lastly humectants.

How are the microbes used?

The diatoms that are used are there to help to clean your teeth. As you have probably heard the dentist say, the fluoride is used to help protect and keep you teeth from decaying. The humectants are there to keep the substance smooth and able to be pushed out from the tube.
