There is 206 bones in the system, in the bones is marrow and some blood vessels that lead into the bone, there also various nerves. The bones are in two main groups: Axial and Appendicular.

Axial - 80 bones: includes the skull, hyoid, ribs, sternum, auditory ossicles, and vertebral column

Appendicular - 126 bones: upper limbs, lower limbs, pelvic girdle, and pectoral girdle.
