Bond

-A savings bond is basically an "IOU" from whoever you buy it from; eventually it matures and you receive the full principal value of what you bought it for.

-Savings bonds have lower interest rates of .1-.3%.

-Savings bonds are known for their very low risk.

-Some benefits to investing in savings bonds include no taxes on any interest earned, no penalties for cashing early, and virtually no risk.

-If your bond is physically damaged, it can be replaced!

-You can buy your bond through banks or even online.

-I chose a savings bond because it's such a safe investment opportunity and even though it takes a long time to get the money back, by the time retirement rolls around, it would be completely matured.

I chose to invest $10,000 into a savings bond because it's a very good and safe way to invest for retirement.

$10,000
