The Supreme Court
- The Supreme Court took its stance from a legal viewpoint
- in 1935 it effectively declared the NRA (National Recovery Administration) illegal.
- The following year it declared the AAA (Agricultural Adjustment Act) unconstitutional.
- The Supreme Court came to the decision that anyone who made a effort to help farmers etc. should come to a state level and not federal level and that these parts of the New Deal went against the powers given to the states by the constitution.
- the FDR became very frustrated with the court and threatened to "pack the court" with justices and would uphold his legislation.
