How did the Saint die?

He died in 1231 after falling ill with ergotism

He retreated to a woodland and lived in a call built of walnut trees

He requested to be buried in the small church of Santa Maria Mater Dominic. However, he died at the Poor Clare monetary at Arcella at the age of 35

Legend has it that when Anthony died the children in the street cried and the church bells rang on their own
