CHARACTER

The main character in the story is a girl named Moses, or Mo. Mo has been looking for her upstream mother since she learned that she was found by the Colonel in a stream. Dale is an easily-frightened boy with a dad that is a lunatic. The two best friends set up a detective agency to discover who killed Mr. Jesse and who Mo's real mother is. The only one in their way is Joe Starr, a rivaling detective.
