- the independent executive agencies include most of the independent agencies

- the most important difference between the independent and the independent executive agencies and the 15 executive departments is the they simply do not have Cabinet status.       Ex: NASA, EPA


Independent Regulatory Commission

- The independent regulatory commission stand out among the independent agencies because they are largely beyond the reach of presidential directin and control 

     Ex: FAA. FDA
