SHORT-TERM

The most common long-term effects of marijuana use are severe anxiety and psychosis. However, because marijuana is not monitored by the FDA, its potential to cause cancer, its potency, and potential to cause other side effect are not fully known. People with heart diease, a history of psychosis, or pregnant people are at risk when using marijuana and are advised against doing so.
