From farm to city
The farmers that sold their land had little choice they could with stay and work the land for the new owner or move to the city. Almost all of them moved to Rome. Farmers crowded into wooden apartment buildings six stories or higher, which cause living conditions to be terrible. The aqueducts which brought water to the apartments and drainage pipes weren't connected to the apartment buildings. Buildings often caught on fire or collapsed, and disses such as typhus were common. Businesses were staffed by enlarged people from Greece and there was nor industry in Rome.
