Immigrants become oppressed when not treated as a citizen. In the image illustrated is immigrants at work. In the 1920s and even now many immigrants are not given the rights of citizens. The immigrants are working because the workers are in need of money. Immigrants are often times forced to work less wages. This is example of immigrants being oppressed by society/government. Immigrants are denied basic services such as food and healthcare. The immigrants are not allowed to participate in the political process and are not protected by the laws that apply to citizens.
