SmartSheet is considered to be a project and task management system. However, it can also be thought of as an online collaborative spreadsheet with several features that allow it to be molded into a multitude of uses.

Features include:

• Live cloud sharing for single-version view/edit access

• Excel-type functionality

• WebForm connections for data entry

• Different data view types including Kanban, Gantt, and calendar.

• Row-level attachments and comments

• Notifications

• App integrations with Box, DocuSign, Tableau, & Excel to name a few

As a MyAccess app, all @UCSF accounts can access and edit a SmartSheet but only paid users ($119/year) can create new sheets. Also, SmartSheet cannot be used for HIPAA/FERPA data.
