— Only waged if the Oracle approved
— Usually fought for land, water and trade.
— Usually very short wars because men that fought also had jobs in the village ex. (Cutting down trees, harvesting, planting)
— Used canoes to reach enemies by water
— They believed when they fought “Kill other guy before he kills me.”
— Used home field advantage
— Wars became longer and more deadly
— Firearms were used
— Tribes turned on tribes
— Tribes captured other Igbo people and traded them to the Europeans
