This book was in third person but the author still have you the characters thoughts. The author gave you the thoughts of Terrell and his friend Danny, and I noticed they both thought the same way and had the same morals. I like the how I could see what they thought, and this helped me understand their decisions a little more.

How he wrote the story?

Theme

I think the author basically told the readers the theme of the book. Terrell hung out with many people but only 1 friend and his family helped in his time of need and actually cared about him. The last sentence of the book said “But as Terrell looked around at the friends, true friends, surrounding him, he knew he had everything he needed.”(392). The theme of the book is family and true friends are the most important in life.
