Conflict/Resolution

Conflict:

Marguerite receives a magical egg and is allowed one wish. Throughout the story, she ponders what she should wish for, but the main conflict is when Arnold goes missing and she has to spend the wish on either herself or on her best friend (Arnold).

Resolution:

Marguerite puts her friend before herself and wishes that Arnold be freed from his egg. He transforms into a crow and flies away.
