Rabies Virus( Rabies)

☠️ It is a neurotropic virus meaning it affects the nerve system.

☠️ It is transmitted through saliva of animals and via human fluids. Mostly cats, dogs, and bats.

☠️ Symptoms include anxiety, fever, headache, nausea, confusion, hyperactivity, excess salivation, fear of water (hydrophobia) due to difficulty in swallowing, hallucinations, photophobia, nightmares, insomnia, partial paralysis.

☠️ Some treatments would be wound care and rabies post exposure vaccinations. However once the disease has progressed to the point where signs appear there is no successful treatment for rabies

☠️ it has a 100% mortality rate and it may take two to eight weeks or in rare cases it can vary from 10 days to 2 years to develop.
