There are more than 300 Ronald McDonald Houses throughout the United States and world, with local chapters in 52 countries and regions. All operate under licensing guidelines from Ronald McDonald House Charities. However, each Ronald McDonald House is independently operated.

Families stay at the House for a short period of time or a long period of time depending on the child's illness and treatment. Stays may last several weeks to several months, and even extend to a year or more. 

Many families travel great distances far away from home and spend weeks, even months just to get treatment for their child.

Families stay at the Ronald McDonald House for little or no cost.

Each year a little more than 9 million and families stay at a Ronald McDonald House. A way to support Ronald McDonald House is to drop you spare change in the RMCH Donation Box at a participating McDonalds Restaurant. Even if it's just pennies, it makes a difference.

There is a Ronald McDonald House Charity of Kentuckiana (known as RMHCK) it is located in the heart of downtown Louisville, that isn't too far from Kosair Children's Hospital and other regional hospitals.
