Northern Economic Growth

The north had a population that was more than twice the size of the South. The north had enough food for all of the people there, including the armies. It boasted many factories that produced much of what armies needed. Northern armies had wagons, tents, and their blue uniforms. The northeast were the most industrialized are of the country. The factories in the area quickly turned to making war supplies that kept the union armies well-equipped.
