The New Deal redefined the role of the Federal Government in the lives of American citizens. The controversy surrounding The New Deal brought up two significant questions: Did the New Deal expand our definition of liberty? Or did it destroy the ideals of American freedom? Although the FDR Administration's New Deal was viewed as success due the record breaking passing of legislation at a rapid rate and its ability to get the country through the Great Depression until WWII nevertheless, the New Deal faced various critics because of its impact on economics, politics, and social ideas that several parties felt they needed to address.
