Adenine
Uses and Importance
Adenine is an integral part of DNA,RNA, and ATP. DNA,as you might know, is the genetic code used for cellular life on earth.
Adenine is also an important part of adenosine triphosphate, or ATP. This molecule is important because it has the ability to phosphorylize, or add phosphate group to, other molecules.
A nitrogenous base is simply a nitrogen containing molecule that has the same chemical properties as a base. They are particularly important since they make up the building blocks of DNA and RNA: adenine, guanine, cytosine, thymine and uracil.
