Family structure:

-patriarchal entry, dads decide over the women's life. Who she marries, where she goes to school, and if she gets pregnant

-Women's roles: staying at home and taking care of children if they do not attend school. cooking and cleaning and almost never go to work

Children & Elders role in the family:

-Children in Afghanistan take care of each other and respect the elder male. They sometimes attend school and the eldest male child makes decisions for the household if the normal decision maker is not present to do so.

-Elders are the most respected members of Afghan society. Even if a female is older than the eldest male, he will be expected to make decisions and be the voice of the family in society.
