This is the disastrous storm that crashed into the cay that eventually killed Timothy. The storm was at the end of the book it teared down the cay badly.

The S.S hato (a ship) was torpedoed by german U-boats. It led Phillip to end up with Timothy.

Timothy and Phillip manage to survive on the cay quite well. Luckily, they had food and Timothy knows how to help him and phillip survive wth his techniques.
