Victory in the French and Indian war was costly for the British. At the wars conclusions in 1763, King George lll in 1763, and his government looking to taxing the American Colonies as a way recouping their war cost. Colonist attack, tar and feather a hapless tax collecter. The colonist was not fooled by Parliaments ploy.
