The track opened for its first season of racing in 1904. The track also held Greyhound racing.
Anthony Downs was an American horse racing track located in Anthony, Harper County, Kansas.
History
Since 1904, Anthony Downs has provided fans with the best in horse and dog racing. The annual races have become a midwest tradition. Fans who choose to sit in the beautiful, open-air grandstand are treated to close-up racing, as the grandstand is separated from the track by less than 6 feet. The race schedule consists of alternating horse and dog races, at a fast and furious pace of every 15 minutes, providing plenty of wagering opportunities, and lots of racing action.
