The vegetation in the highlands depends primarily on the climate around it. Highlands in the rainforest will have a rainforest at their base, for example. Highland vegetation almost always includes a tree line at the base. A few grasses grow on highland mountains. Occasional shrubs such as chaparral bushes also appear.
