Why were the colonies successful?

The colonies were at a huge disadvantage, they had worse weapons, resources, and generals, but they had one thing, the want to win. The British soldiers did not want to be there, and there not motivated, as the colonists were motivated to win their freedom. That is why they were successful in the American Revolution.
