Down's syndrome is a condition when a person is born with an extra copy of chromosome 21. Down's syndrome causes physical, emotional, and intellectual disabilities.

Life expectancy and quality of life:

• People with Down's syndrome usually live to age 60+.

• They're quality of life depends on how severe the disease is. Most people need many different types of therapy.

Detection:

Down's syndrome can be detected during birth by looking for an extra chromosome. Down's syndrome is more common when a woman gives birth at a old age.
