Accomplishments:

- Debi Thomas won the 1986 U.S. Nationals and World Championships

- Served as a representative for the U.S. Olympic Committee in 2002

- With her third place finish, she became the first black athlete to win any medal at the Winter Olympics

- Inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2000
