Nature vs nurture

- Edwards was a product of his nurture

-he lacked a father figure in his life

-his mother was mentally ill and tried to commit suicide and didnt care for him

- he was placed in an orphanage at a young age, where he was physically and emotionally abused

- it seemed as though anywhere he went he faced problems

- the abuse and neglect he experienced combined led him to killing and his criminal behavior
