Malcolm X was a major civil rights leader. However he was not an avid supporter of Martin Luther King JR.
He had a very different view of how the protests for more rights should go. He believed that they should work for more political positions and that violence is justifiable.
He even said that he would fight the whites if it came to that.
However, Martin Luther and Malcolm X eventually gained an understanding of each other.
