Death & Other Background

Theodore Parker married Lydia Cabot on April 20th, 1837. His words and quotations that he popularized would later inspire speeches of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. His writings had been passed along to Abraham Lincoln, who admired his work. And on May 10, 1860, he died of tuberculosis.
