Founded as a rival to the social network formspring, they wanted to make a better revised version of formspring.

Used social media marketing to let people to know about ask.Fm and to get there first users

After there launch they started growing rapidly. In July 2012 they surpassed formspring with 37 million users. In 2013 they had 80 million active users who post 30 million questions and answers per day. It is one of the 200 most visited websites in the world

The company now consists of 10 employs including CEO mark and lija Terebin who are brothers.
