In Hawaii I would like to visit the Mauna Loa which is the one of the world's largest and most active volcano. Mauna Loa means "Long Moutain" in Hawaiian.The elevation of Mauna Loa is 13,678 feet. Mauna Loa has an area of 4 acres. The Mauna Loa last erupted in 1984. The Mauna Loa has erupted 33 times since 1843. The lava flow of 1855-1856 is said to be one of the greatest flows ever seen by observers. During eruptions in 1935 and 1942, U.S. military planes dropped bombs in attemp to save the city of Hilo from lava flows. It makes up half of the area of the island of Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean. The Mauna Loa is the most massive mountain on the earth.
