Problems/disorders/injuries of the System
Pneumonia happens when bacteria and viruses fill up the alveoli making it inflamed. The symptoms of this are difficult breathing, fever, chills and pain, coughing up phlegm and blood.
Some problems and disorders of the respiratory system pneumonia, laryngitis, bronchitis, and emphysema.
Laryngitis is an inflammation of the vocal cords which causes hoarseness and loss of voice. It is caused by viruses, chemicals in the air, and overuse of the voice.
There are two types of bronchitis, acute and chronic. Acute can be a complication of a cold or flu. It is caused by bacteria, smoking, and air pollution. Chronic is a long term sickness caused by air pollution and tobacco smoke. It makes you cough and have a congestion of the airways.
Emphysema is also caused by smoking. It makes the walls of alveoli disintegrate, causing the alveoli to blend together, which makes large air pockets that doesn't allow air to escape. It makes it difficult for the person to breathe and it can lead to a respiratory failure.
