In 1951, Edward started a new documentary series called "See it Now". The show was cancelled seven years later in 1958.

Edward is well-known for his particular segment against Senator Joseph McCarthy. This segment explained a story about a soldier removed from the army because of his father's and sister's political beliefs. This popular episode didn't just help get the soldier reinstated but also dramatically decreased the senator's popularity.
