The primary difference between gasoline and diesel is that, these two are very distinct fractions of crude oil; whereby, gasoline is lighter and volatile, whereas diesel is less volatile, heavier, and has a high lubricity. In addition to, gasoline is a hydrocarbon that is made up of 8 carbon atoms, whereas diesel is a hydrocarbon with ten atoms of carbon in a single molecule.
