Answering Unexpected Questions

A question may be asked that you’re unprepared for

It’s OK to pause before giving your answer

- Take a moment to gather your thoughts, so you can give a thoughtful response

- Tell your interviewer “I need a moment to consider my answer”

- You can take up to a half-minute if you need to

Don’t just blurt out an answer

- The first answer that comes to mind might not be the best answer

- Your interviewers (and you) deserve a good answer
