History of Romania
Romania declared independence in 1878. Romania was neutral during WW1 till the French pressured the Romanians and then the Romanians declared war on Austria-Hungary. During WW2 Romania tried to be neutral but they joined the German, Japan and Italian powers. In 1947 Romania was proclaimed a republic but they were under direct military and economic control of the USSR.
