Why is cyber-bullying so popular?

One reason bullying is so prevalent online is that when you are communicating via a computer or cell phone, you are not receiving immediate feedback about the consequences of your actions. You don’t see how hurt others are, which means less guilt. In addition, many comments can be misconstrued online—what is meant as a joke can be taken as something else.
