Korea
Korea’s division led to a war which proved as serious as any of the difficulties encountered by those nations. A unique set of internal and external factors created a conflict which almost precipitated a nuclear war.
On June 25, 1950, North Korean forces led by Pyongyang invaded the South Korean army, and quickly headed toward the capital of Seoul.
The United Nations had already involved itself in the affairs of Korea in 1947, before partition. They allowed the U.S to provide the republic of South Korea with all the necessary aid to repel agressors.
