Kobe was the child of Venancio "Benjie" Paras Jr. (Basketball player) and Jackie Foster (Actress). Andre and Kobe was the first children of their dad's first wife. 

Later on it was discovered that their mom was popping pills. Kobe and his brother was abandoned by their mom after discovering that she was abusing her kids and was left with their father afterwards. Kobe and his brother were both traumatized by what their mother did to them. Today Kobe and his brother had a new family with their "good" stepmom with two more brothers. He is currently living with his father, stepmom and two stepbrothers. Kobe and his brother are in good hands, "Thank you for everything and for helping us every time we need help. For being there to protect us from all the bad things. Thank you, we love you." a message for his stepmom according to Kobe.
