Odysseus and his men are washed up shore on an island that they don't know of. When Odysseus goes to get water, he meets king Aeolus God of winds. Who decides to help get Odysseus home. Even though he is Poseidon's cousin, Aeolus gives Odysseus a bag of winds to get him home.
