Where did World

War I take place?

The British army fought during the war in France and Belgium.

The fighting conditions were strict and rough. They fought in hot weather, cold weather, rain, storms, etc... and on many different types of terrain.

Soldiers would have to focus on hygiene, due to lice-infested clothing. The clothes would be steam-cleaned. The more important issue was the food supply they were given and eaten. If they were out of date, the effects could be very dangerous.

The battles lasted for about 3-4 days. The British soldiers would mostly use the bolt-action rifle, which could kill a person up to 1,400 meters away. About 2941.334 people died during the war, and 8.904.000 people took part in World War I.

The Battle of Mons:

On the 23rd of August, 1914, the battle of Mons in France, was one of the major battles in the Battles of the Frontiers and was the first encounter between the British and German forces on the Western Front. The British Expeditionary Force (B.E.F.) was made of four infantry divisions and one cavalry division of the British First Army, which had landed at the French coast from 16th August.
