Industrial production grew at a rapid pace because of greatly increased sales of manufactured
goods. By 1900, Europe was divided into two economic zones. Western and northern Europe made up an advanced industrialized core. Another part of Europe was little-industrialized area to the south and east countries were still largely agricultural.
