Forensic science history dates back thousands of years. A forensic science named Sir Francis Gallon, established the first system for classifying fingerprints.The commissioner of metropolitan police of London, Sir Edward Henry, developed his own system in 1896. This system was called The Henry classification system and it's still being used today for criminal fingerprinting techniques worldwide.
In 1835, the first person to use physical analysis to connect a bullet to a weapon was Henry Goddard. In 1920, when America physician Calvin Goddard created the comparison microscope to determine which bullets came from which sell casings, that's when bullet examination became more precise. A team in the 1970's produced a method for detecting gunshot residue using scanning electron microscopes at Aerospace corporation in California.
