Pi becomes very weak and lonely.


Part Three Mood: desperate and then pleasure and contentment --

Pi tries to convince the Japanese officials of his story. They finally understand his point and he is satisfied with that.

The mood switches throughout the film/novel.


Part One Mood: happy and playful --

Pi is filled with joy because of his strong religious beliefs and because he's learning about how he should live his life.
