Nirvana

At the age of 80, Siddhartha Gautama becomes seriously ill after eating spoiled food. Gautama's last words were "All the constituents of being are transitory; work out your salvation with diligence." In other words, he affirmed the hope of salvation for Buddhists. After ascending through the stages of meditation, Gautama died, passing forever into Nirvana.
